Crop Image

Crop freely or to exact ratios — 1:1, 16:9, 4:3 and more.

Loading the interactive tool… It runs in your browser — if it doesn't appear, enable JavaScript.

Drag the selection over your image, or snap it to the ratio the destination demands — square for profile pictures, 16:9 for thumbnails and slides, 9:16 for stories. The pixel dimensions of your selection show live, and the crop happens at the image's full native resolution regardless of how it's displayed on screen.

Frequently asked questions

Which aspect ratio do I need?

Profile photos: 1:1. YouTube thumbnails and presentation slides: 16:9. Instagram/TikTok stories: 9:16. Classic photo prints: 3:2. When in doubt, crop loosely in the right ratio — platforms scale, but they crop badly.

Does cropping reduce image quality?

The pixels you keep are untouched — cropping discards, it doesn't recompress the remainder beyond one save. PNG output is lossless; JPEG saves at high quality. What you lose is resolution: a small crop from a large photo has fewer pixels, by definition.

Is my photo uploaded to crop it?

No — selection and cropping run entirely in your browser on your device. Nothing is transmitted, which is rather the point for personal photos.
