Check that your camera works before the interview does it for you. One click shows a live preview with the resolution and frame rate the camera is actually delivering, and a device switcher if you have more than one. The preview is mirrored, like a mirror — the other side of a call sees the unmirrored view.
Nothing is recorded or transmitted — the video stream goes from your camera to your screen and nowhere else. The camera releases (light off) the moment you press stop or leave the page.
Frequently asked questions
The page says camera access was blocked — how do I fix it?
Click the camera icon in your browser's address bar and allow access for this site, then try again. If there's no prompt at all, your OS may be blocking the browser: check System Settings → Privacy → Camera (macOS) or Settings → Privacy → Camera (Windows).
Why is my video dark, grainy or laggy?
Usually lighting — webcams degrade fast in dim rooms, so face a window or lamp. If the readout shows a low frame rate, close other apps using the camera and any CPU-heavy tabs.
Is anything from my camera sent to your server?
No. The preview runs entirely in your browser via getUserMedia — there's no recording, no upload, no storage, and you can verify the camera light goes off when you press stop.
